RNE community projects
Here is a(nother) real joy for us - it’s the part where we get to give back. To reach across and give a hand up to others. We hope that by making running (and all the wonderful life affirming, resilience building, health giving & awesome community aspects that go with it) accessible to more people we can help make the world just that little bit kinder, friendlier, healthier and happier!
We do this by giving our energy and our time to those where access to running and empowerment is limited or challenging. This might be because of personal difficulties like mental health or financial challenges. It might also be on a larger scale like gender or race bias. In the past we have given scholarships to individual athletes and worked with large groups toward a common goal. We’ll update more about those success stories soon but in the meantime please scroll down for our current project with Ultra Black Running.
Ultra Black Running
Look at the start line of any trail race and especially any ultra trail race and you’ll see a very homogenous group of people. Previously we’ve worked with WMNRUN to help improve the number of women on those start lines, however there is still much more to be done. Ultra Black Runners is the newest project from Dora Atim, which aims to reduce the barriers to trail running that exist for black womxn and black non gender conforming people.
We are super happy to be supporting Dora and her UBR team as they journey toward ultra running greatness!
