Yoga

Yoga classes take place in a high, covered shala . It is the most wonderful place to rest, move and breathe. High above the hustle and bustle, all you hear is the gentle rush of water from a nearby stream and the wind in the trees as you breathe the restorative, crisp mountain air. Clear alignment based instructions that will get your body ready to run and your mind calm, clear & focused. (Image Ale Oostlander)

Any nutritional concerns? We have a wonderful, knowledgeable chef on hand who can cater for any needs.

Weekend itinerary

Please note that there will be some changes to this schedule as we will adapt each retreat to the specific needs of each group for maximum enjoyment, fun and relaxation. The runs are social pace and we find that the altitude is a good way to level out peoples abilities but we make it our interest to keep everyone happy, empowered and on the right side of challenged. In general the evenings are free as we sit down together and share the meal with plenty of good conversation and lovely food. Bed time tends to beckon early in the mountains after a long day.

FAQ

What is included in the price?

The retreat is priced at £550per person and includes full board accommodation in a deluxe double or twin room with air conditioning, ensuite bathroom and mountain views (between Friday lunchtime and Monday morning), daily yoga classes and guided runs with expert advice & coaching from Tom and Rach. You will only need to pay for your flights and transfers.

What is the transfer cost?

In the case of all guests arriving to Marrakesh airport together and leaving together the transfer cost is only £10 per person each way for the 90 minute journey. However a single person would pay closer to £35 each way. If you let us know your arrival and departure time we will do our best to group you with others making the same journey - a great way to keep the cost down and make a friend on the way!

What flights to book?

You will need to fly into Marrakesh airport (RAK). We recommend arriving early to make the most of your retreat time and value for money. Most flights arrive into Marrakesh for around 11am on Friday. Departure is often between 12 noon and 3pm on Monday. You are welcome to use flexibility with the flights you chose, however it is useful to use these times as a guide because transfer cost is much cheaper when all guests travel together.

What do i need?

A good pair of trail shoes. The terrain is mostly non - technical, runnable hard packed donkey trail with some loose rocks and scree. The weather is usually very warm so bring sun protection. However as with any high altitude region the weather may also turn at a moments notice to make waterproof jacket and some warm layers necessary. The evenings are usually quite cool so bring warm clothes for then and in case you need some layers during yoga. You won’t need any special yoga equipment or clothing. We will have mats etc and you can practice in running clothes or similar! Any questions don’t hesitate to ask.

  • Trail shoes

  • running clothes

  • sun protection

  • warm layers

  • waterproof layer

  • running backpack with water reserve and trail snacks

  • warm clothes for the evening

Am i good enough?

Yes.

The retreat is for runners of all abilities.  However, please do be aware that you will be spending a considerable amount of time at high altitude (above 2000m) and running on sometimes rocky or uneven ground.  You should have medical clearance from your doctor to exercise.  Please talk to us if you have any concerns about your ability. It is essential that you have your own travel insurance that covers you for being in the mountains up to 3000m altitude.

Booking & CANCELLATION POLICY:

To secure your place on the retreat you will need to pay a deposit of £300, the remaining £250 is due 4 weeks before the start of the retreat. This deposit is non refundable.  However, we do understand that sometimes life can get a little messy - so if you need to cancel - let us know as soon as possible and we may be able to hold your deposit for a future retreat or coaching engagement.
